'Is this live?' - Man United legend Paul Scholes leaves presenter stunned after swearing on MUTV

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes left MUTV presenter Zarah Connolly stunned after swearing on live TV ahead of the legends match against Celtic at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Scholes, who made north of 700 appearances during his United career, was named on the bench for the clash set up to raise money for the Manchester United Foundation.

Ahead of kick-off at Old Trafford, the club's in-house TV channel conducted several interviews with the players who were selected to participate, both in the tunnel and on the pitch.

MUTV presenter Zarah Connolly led the pre-match interviews on the pitch, catching a word with the likes of Denis Irwin, Wayne Rooney and Phil Bardsley.

But it was her conversation with Scholes that generated the most eye-catching moment. Just 10 seconds into her discussion with the midfielder, a high ball from Nicky Butt almost struck Scholes, forcing him to move out of the way.

Not realising the interview with Connolly was live, Scholes swore. However, he realised he had made an innocent mistake just seconds later.

Reacting to Butt's pass, Scholes said: "I'm going to get t*****d here, I can see! Sorry for swearing. Is it live?"

Connolly could not help but laugh at Scholes' error, before quickly quipping: "Apologies for that. I knew that that target would have been Nicky Butt right there."

As Connolly then made her way over to Butt to grab a pre-match chat with him, Scholes took revenge on his former United teammate, kicking a ball at him, albeit relatively gently, to which Butt turned around and smiled.
