Is Gotham Knights releasing on PlayStation 4/Xbox One?

Gaming fans are wondering whether Gotham Knights is releasing on PlayStation 4/Xbox One and we can reveal all the details.

Despite the new generation of consoles being around for almost two years now, they are still hard to come by, and this is due to chip shortage issues coupled and the pandemic.

With a game based around such a popular franchise in Batman, there is a lot of demand around Gotham Knights, and expectations are high.

With the game expected to be released in October 2022, there are still many questions around Gotham Knights, including questions around what platform it will be on.

Gotham Knights took many by storm when it was first announced and has managed to generate a ton of hype amongst the community since then. Recently, the developers came out with a brand new gameplay video showcasing the abilities of Redhood and Nightwing. 

The gameplay trailer was accompanied by an announcement from the developers in which it was confirmed that Gotham Knights is no longer going to be released on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. 

Now, the game will only be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The cancellation of the last-gen versions was officially announced on Tuesday May 10th 2022, in a FAQ alongside the 13-minute gameplay trailer shown above featuring Knightwing and Red Hood.

Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment said “To provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.” 

This certainly is a piece of bad news for older generation console players hoping to jump into Gotham; however, the decision to develop the game on a single console generation will surely help
