Irish showjumpers seal spot at Paris 2024 Olympics
Ireland's showjumpers have secured their place at the 2024 Olympics after a fourth-place finish at the FEI World Championships in Denmark.
The quartet of Denis Lynch, Bertram Allen, Cian O'Connor and Daniel Coyle made sure of the top-five finish needed to qualify for the Paris Games with a total score of 23.15.
Tokyo Olympics gold medallists Sweden added the world title to their collection, with the Netherlands taking silver, while Great Britain's showjumpers, led by the quartet of reigning Olympic individual champion Ben Maher, Scott Brash, Harry Charles and Joe Stockdale secured their first world team podium finish for 24 years in claiming bronze.
Germany took the fifth Olympic qualification position.
Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann leads the individual competition, which concludes with two more rounds of jumping at Herning's Stutteri Ask Stadium in Denmark.
