Ireland unable to quell West Indies' Hayley Matthews in second T20 clash

Ireland continued to be troubled by Hayley Matthews as she led the West Indies to a comfortable win in the sides' second women's T20 clash.

The opener, who was player of the match in the first T20 and hit a century to go with three wickets in the opening one-day international, hit 50 off 39 balls as the hosts cruised home by eight wickets.

Chinelle Henry added 22 from 12 balls to see the hosts to their target of 114 with 20 balls to spare in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia - clinching the series win with three fours and a six in her last four balls.

Opener Amy Hunter hit 33 from 35 balls for Ireland, but the team struggled to break free from some tidy West Indies bowling.

Captain Laura Delany added 20 before becoming one of four runs outs in the Irish innings as they reached 113-7.

That never looked enough as Matthews and Rashad Williams added 40 from the first six overs, Henry and Shabika Gajnabi seeing them home after Matthews had departed.
