Ireland to host India in T20I series this summer

Ireland will host India in a three-match T20I series in Malahide this August.

It marks the second year in a row that the number one ranked side in the limited overs game will play on Irish soil.

The matches will take place between 18-23 August with fixture dates to be confirmed.

Last year, Ireland lost 2-0 to India in a two-match series in Malahide.

It's adds to a busy schedule of Test and T20I matches for Ireland over the coming months.

They are about to start a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh which will be followed by three T20 outings against the same opponents before a Test on 4-8 April in the capital Dhaka.

They will also take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series later that month, while there will be a Test match at Lords against England on 1-4 June.

In between those assignments, three ODIs against Bangladesh in Chelmsford, England are slated for May in the World Cup Super League series as the Irish side look to claim automatic qualification for the 50-overs tournament and avoid a qualifier in Zimbabwe in June or July.

"Summer 2023 will be a feast of men's cricket but will look very different to normal for fans. We can today confirm India visiting Ireland for a second consecutive year and confirm the World Cup Super League series against Bangladesh will proceed in early May. This is on top of the already announced Test match at Lord’s in June and the three-match ODI series in September against England," said Cricket Ireland CEO Warren Deutrom.
