Ireland Sevens to face Fiji for Olympics place
Ireland Women face an Olympic Games qualification shootout with Fiji in the World Rugby Seven Series tomorrow morning (8am Irish time).
Entering the final round of the series in an automatic qualifying place, Ireland bowed out at the quarter-final stage with a 17-7 defeat to Australia this morning.
But they now face Fiji in the fifth-place semi-final with the Fijians just two points behind Ireland in the overall standings in the race to France next year.
A win will be enough for Allan Temple-Jones' side to earn a place at Paris 2024.
The losers will have other chances to qualify via the regional and global repechage routes.
