Ireland see off Vanuatu to stay top of ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifier group

Ireland remain unbeaten at the top of their T20 Women's World Cup qualifying group after a nine-wicket victory over Vanuatu in Abu Dhabi.

Ireland won the toss and elected to field first, limiting Vanuatu to 88 for nine from their 20 overs as Eimear Richardson took three for eight and Arlene Kelly and Laura Delany struck twice.

Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis made light work of the small chase, sharing an opening stand of 82 inside 12 overs.

Lewis departed for 45 off 36 balls with just seven runs needed, with Hunter leading her side home with 34 not out.

Ireland sit two points clear of the Netherlands, who they face on Friday, after three straight wins in Group B.
