Ireland's Steve Lennon regains PDC tour card at UK Q-School

Ireland's Steve Lennon has regained his PDC tour card after beating Scottish opponent William Borland 6-4 in the day one final at the UK Q-School.

The Carlow native has had a PDC tour card since 2017 but his place on tour was under threat following the most recent World Championships at Alexandra Palace when he exited at the second round stage.

But a strong showing on the opening day of qualification school on Thursday, culminating in victory over Borland in their final at Milton Keynes, the 30-year-old was able to regain his card immediately and maintain his place on tour.

On route to the final, he defeated Leighton Bennett, Shaun Wilkinson and Brett Claydon, before a dramatic last-16 win over Matthew Dennant.

In the quarter-finals, he got the better of Justin Hood and then George Killington 6-2 in the semis, prior to comeback win from 4-3 down against Borland in the decider to prevail 6-4.
