Ireland come up short against the Netherlands in last warm up game before World Cup qualifiers

Ireland suffered defeat in their second and final warm-up match ahead of the ICC World Cup qualifiers as the Netherlands claimed a two-wicket win in Bulawayo.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Ireland were bowled out for 193 in the 40th over, with Lorcan Tucker having top scored with 74 and Gareth Delany and Graham Hume contributed 46 and 30 respectively.

Ben White then impressed with the ball, taking five for 61, but it was the Dutch who emerged victorious as they chased down their target with more than 12 overs to spare, Wesley Barresi hitting 90.

Ireland, who beat the United States in their initial warm-up contest on Tuesday, open their bid to claim one of the two remaining World Cup spots still up for grabs when they take on Oman at the same venue next Monday.

The teams will also face Scotland, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka in Group B.
