IPL Auction 2022: Punjab Kings shell out Rs 17.50 crore to bag Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada

Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction in Bengaluru on Saturday, bought by Punjab Kings, who also bought South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. But Punjab eventually clinched the deal. Dhawan's base price was Rs 2 crore. Also in the bracket of Rs 2 crore base price was veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who was bought for Rs 5 crore by Rajasthan Royals.

Pat Cummins, considered one of the hottest foreign picks, fetched Rs 7.25 crore, which is almost a 50% pay cut from the last auction. He, though, will continue to play for the Kolkata franchise, who had decided not to retain him ahead of the auction. Punjab added another player from among the marquee players in the form of South African pacer Kagiso Rabada.
