IPL 2024 Auction: Remaining Purse Of All 10 Franchises, Number Of Slots To Be Filled - All You Need To Know

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction on December 19 will be the final chance for the 10 franchises involved to ready and finetune their squads ahead of the upcoming season of the world's most popular T20 cricket tournament. Ahead of the auction, the teams have retained their heavy-hitters and released the players deemed excess to their requirements in order to free up funds to strengthen their squads at the auction.

However, there are a few points that need to be remembered. Each team can have a maximum of 25 players in the squad, which includes an upper cap of eight overseas players. The minimum squad size, meanwhile, needs to be 18.

After player retention, releases and trades, a maximum of 77 slots can be filled up by the 10 teams combined at the IPL 2024 auction. This includes 30 overseas player quotas.

Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders will need to be the busiest camp at the auction with 12 slots to fill. However, it will be Gujarat Titans who will enter the bidding with the biggest budget of 38.15 crores, primarily due to the all-cash trade for Hardik Pandya, which saw the ace all rounder return to Mumbai Indians.

A total of 333 players from 13 countries will go under the hammer at the IPL auction. Of these 214 will be Indians.

Heading into the IPL 2024 auction, here's a complete list of the players retained by each team, their budget, slots to be filled and everything else you may need to know.
