IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler on song, hits third century of the season

Rajasthan Royals opening batter is in terrific form as he scored his third century of the season during the IPL match against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday. The England batter strengthened his grip on the Orange Cap with another splendid knock. His century knock included 8 sixes and the same number of fours.

Buttler, who added 115 runs for the opening wicket with Devdutt Padikkal, reached his century off just 57 balls. His knock eventually ended up at the score of 116 off 65 balls with the help of nine boundaries and as many hits over the fence.

He leaped and punched in the air in joy soon after scoring his second successive century of this season and fourth overall.

Earlier, Buttler scored a century against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday, his second ton of the season. Buttler hit his first ton of the season against Mumbai Indians.

West Indian legend Chris Gayle is sitting right at the top of the list with 6 tons to his name followed by Virat Kohli (5), David Warner (4), Shane Watson (4) and Buttler (4). The Englishman has scored four centuries in just 71 innings.

“He’s been excellent, the best T20 opener in the world,” said RR coach Kumar Sangakkara after Buttler’s century against KKR. “We are very lucky to have him. He’s been batting really well, really deep into the innings. Not just about the powerplay. And that’s why he’s got the Orange Cap."
