IPL 2022: GT now guaranteed top slot, 7 teams vying for 3 remaining spots - All playoffs possibilities in 11 points

TOI looks at each of these possibilities to calculate the chances of individual teams making it to the playoffs. Both matches played on Sunday - the first between GT and CSK and the second between RR and LSG have cemented GT's position as the chart-topper. The first spot in the points table now belongs to GT and it still remains the only team to officially qualify for the playoffs so far.

RR's win in the second match on Sunday means that LSG can also no longer top the points table. So far MI and CSK are the only teams that have been officially ruled out of the playoffs race and as of Monday morning, May 16, there are still three of the top four slots which remain open. Here is what the possibilities look like right now: * Despite having two matches left to play, MI is out of reckoning for a playoff spot * CSK have one more match but no chance of making the cut for the playoffs.

Their last match however will be crucial for RR *KKR's chances of making it to the top four have slightly reduced to 12.5%. At best it can now hope for a joint fourth position on the points table. And that spot too might be shared with three to five teams *DC's chances of making it to the top four slots have also reduced to 43.8% and at best they can now hope for a joint second spot which it might have to share with three to four teams.
