‘Interactive Zoo’ to takeover city as part of Manchester Day celebrations

Adding to this year’s beach theme, Manchester Day is to be flooded with ‘zoo animals’ later this month. As part of the annual parade through the city, an interactive zoo installation will be taking over New Cathedral Street.

Street artists and performers will be transforming themselves into lions, orangutans, kangaroos and even a hippopotamus for the Manchester Day On Holiday event, which happens on July 29. Families and kids will be invited to get up close to the animal performers on the day.

Meanwhile, the street will be transformed into a ‘mesmerising tropical rainforest’, thanks to the event’s creative partner Walk The Plank. The interactive zoo will happen from 12pm to 6pm at New Cathedral Street.
