Insight Sports unveils SwimLagos Academy

Swimming

Insight Sports Limited broke new grounds at the weekend, when it organised the formal launch of SwimLagos Academy at the SwimFit Aquatic, along Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Scores of swimming enthusiasts and kid swimmers, mostly students and pupils from different schools, defied the early morning heavy downpour to attend the event.

The event featured more practicals than speeches, as the team of instructors, led by former multiple medalist and national champion, Okpuakpo Forcados, dished out instructions and engaged the kid swimmers on various aspects of the sport, especially the techniques.

Initiator and Chief Executive Officer of Insight Sports Limited, Idowu Otukoya, stated that the mission of LagosSwim Academy “is to provide the highest quality swim instruction and coaching to individuals of all ages and skill levels.

“We aim to create a safe and supportive environment that encourages swimmers to achieve their goals and develop a lifelong love for swimming.”

More than that, Otukoya added that at SwimLagos Academy, “we strive to provide a comprehensive swim programme that meets the needs of swimmers at all levels and our experienced coaches and instructors are dedicated to helping swimmers achieve their goals and develop a lifelong love for swimming.”

The Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku, praised the founder of the SwimLagos Academy, urging Lagos residents to embrace the ideals of the academy, saying they aligned with the government’s thinking towards evolving a swimming culture among the people.

“We are in a state where over 70 per cent is water. We need initiatives like this that can make more Lagosians embrace swimming,” he said.
