Insider: West Ham lodge sizeable recent offer and will now push for agreement to sign one man

As per club insider Claret & Hugh, there has been an update out of West Ham United on the club’s transfer plans as the Irons enter this crucial last week of January.

As manager David Moyes and recruitment chief Rob Newman allegedly chase both the signing of a striker and, potentially, a centre-half (The Daily Express), there has still been no confirmed names through the door in east London.

West Ham are also believed to be on the hunt for ex-loanee Jesse Lingard who’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, but with no agreement reached, they are fast running out of time to secure their targets.

Moyes’ men need fresh additions in key areas of the squad as they fight on more fronts and contend with a far more congested fixture calendar than last campaign.
