Inside the Gallagher brothers' chaotic relationship as Oasis return on the cards

They are the most famous brothers in British music. And like most brothers, they've had their fair share of fall-outs.

But the relationship between Burnage's Gallagher siblings has been chronicled and analysed like no other. As rumours begin to swirl that the pair may have buried the hatchet and decided to reform Oasis, the Manchester Evening News decided to look back to the moments when the squabbling siblings' tumultuous relationship hit the headlines.

After the huge success of debut record Definitely Maybe, which became the UK's fastest selling debut album at the time, Oasis headed over the pond in 1994 for their first US tour. But during one gig in LA, Noel reportedly stormed off stage after being hit by a tambourine thrown by Liam. He left the tour and flew to San Francisco. The trip later became the inspiration for the Oasis song Talk Tonight, it has been said. Noel later returned and joined his bandmates for the rest of the tour.

The following year, Oasis decamped to Rockfield studios in Wales to record what became their second album, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? During the sessions, Liam is said to have brought back some people he had been drinking with in a local pub to the studio, much to the chagrin of Noel. A fight allegedly broke out between the pair, in which Noel allegedly hit his brother with a cricket bat.

Then in 1996, Oasis were due to play an MTV Unplugged gig at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the week after two huge shows at Knebworth.
