Injury rules Anneke Bosch out of Proteas squad for Women’s Cricket World Cup
All-rounder Anneke Bosch was on Tuesday ruled out of the Proteas squad for the Women's World Cup in New Zealand.
Bosch, who was initially named as part of the travelling reserves, suffered a fractured right thumb.
Her place will now be taken top-order batter, Andrie Steyn.
Steyn starred in Sunday's series-deciding ODI win over the West Indies, scoring a well-played 52.
During that match, Proteas wicket-keeper Trisha Chetty left the field due to a back spasm, but she was declared fit on Monday and will fly out with the rest of the squad.
The Women's Cricket World Cup runs from 4 March until 3 April.
The Proteas will face Bangladesh on the opening day of the tournament.
