Indian skipper ruled out of Proteas series, Pant given captaincy
Indian captain KL Rahul has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match T20 series against the Proteas with injury, with Rishabh Pant named skipper.
The series gets under way in Delhi on Tuesday (15:30, SA time).
Rahul misses out with a groin injury, while there is another blow for the hosts with Kuldeep Yadav also being ruled out of the series after he injured his hand batting in the nets on Tuesday.
Hardik Pandya has been confirmed as vice-captain.
With Virat Kohli also not playing in the series - he is being rested - the Proteas will fancy there chances of causing an upset.
