India's Kohli falls on 45 in 100th test as Sri Lanka fight back

:India's batting mainstay Virat Kohli was out on 45 in his 100th test as Sri Lanka pegged the hosts back with two wickets in quick succession before tea on Friday on the opening day of the first test at Mohali.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, India reached 199 for four at the interval with wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer unbeaten at the crease.

India, who have won 14 consecutive home series, were in a strong position when new number three batter Hanuma Vihari and Kohli added 90 for the third wicket to take them to 170-2.

Rohit Sharma was the first wicket to fall for India when he was out for 29 in his first knock as test captain.
