Incredible Elliot Anderson stat only Liverpool signing has bettered as Newcastle loanee scores again
Newcastle United prospect Elliot Anderson has made an impressive start to life on loan with Bristol Rovers. The attacking midfielder scored once again in the Gas' Easter Monday clash at Port Vale as Joey Barton's side maintained their promotion push.
Steve Bruce handed Anderson his senior debut in the Magpies' FA Cup third-round defeat at Arsenal last season. Injuries disrupted the Scotland youth international's start to the current campaign, and his loan exit to the League Two side was sealed on January deadline day.
The teenager's impact since has nothing been short of remarkable, with former Newcastle midfielder and Rovers' boss Barton describing him as the 'Geordie Maradona'. Anderson's latest strike was his ninth goal contribution of his loan spell so far, and it is a return beaten by only one teenager in England's top-four divisions.

Liverpool have sealed a summer deal for Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho, with the attacker registering eight goals and seven assists in the Championship this season. Anderson's latest strike means the future Red is the only teenager to surpass his attacking return, a stat made all the more impressive by the fact the loanee only moved mid-season.
