'In trouble' - Valerien Ismael makes job admission after West Brom defeat

Valerien Ismael admits that his West Brom job is at risk after their latest reverse at the hands of Millwall in London on Saturday.

The Frenchman spoke on Friday pre-match of how he expected to see a different Albion to the one who were deservedly beaten at home to Preston North End in the week. Though their first loss on home soil of the season, the atmosphere generated by The Hawthorns masses that evening was unbearable by the end.

In fairness, the Baggies began brightly at Millwall and created more in the opening ten minutes than they had done in the entirety of their meeting with PNE, but that early momentum rapidly dissipated.

Millwall dominated proceedings in the second half, and they justly earned their reward through Mason Bennett and Benik Afobe. The visiting crowd aimed more chants at Ismael and his players. A couple of flares and a seat ripped out of the stand also found their way onto the pitch.

Ismael knows that, after a run of one win in their last eight matches in all competitions, his tenure at the club is already very much in jeopardy.
