Iconic Manchester hotel to become the city's 'largest' 4-star hotel in multi-million-pound revamp

One of Manchester’s most iconic hotel buildings is to become the area's 'largest' four-star hotel in the city following a huge £33 million refurbishment.

Located just a minute away from Piccadilly Station, the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly, formerly the Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, will reopen this Spring following the renovation project by hotel giants Marriott Bonvoy.

Spanning eight floors, the hotel will comprise 338 bedrooms, all of which have been designed with a nod to Manchester’s industrial and music heritage. Also once known as the Macdonald Hotel Manchester, the hotel will now serve as a ‘flagship’ venue for Marriott.

Already instantly recognisable amongst the city’s skyline thanks to its contemporary curved glass façade, the building is also a short walk from Mayfield Park and transport links to the rest of the city centre.

The hotel’s Bistro-style restaurant will provide a casual service, whilst ground floor lounge and bar The Great Room, will serve morning coffees, quick lunches and drinks into the evening. There will also be a state-of-the-art gym and Elemis spa featuring six treatment rooms and a thermal suite including an Ice Fountain, sauna and heated loungers.

Each of the bedrooms will feature large, comfortable beds and relaxing seating areas, alongside en-suite bathrooms and triple-glazed windows. There will also be 16 Panoramic Suites and two Executive Suites offering unrivalled views of Manchester.

Onsite, there will also be a spacious function room for conferences, events and celebrations hosting up to 270 guests. The hotel’s 11 meeting rooms will be able to accommodate up to 49 attendees with
