Iconic band announce they are splitting up with UK tour and Manchester farewell shows

An iconic band has announced they will be splitting up - with a special farewell UK tour marking the last of their shows.

Part of the British indie and alternative music scene for the last eight years, four-piece Sundara Karma, who have released three albums since 2017, have decided to call time on their music career.

In a statement, the group said the move had been ‘one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make’ but intend to go out with a bang with four UK shows in December, which will begin in Glasgow.

Joined by overpass, Sundara Karma will perform at Manchester's O2 Ritz on December 4. They will also play gigs in Liverpool and London. Tickets for the shows will go on sale at 10am on Friday (September 27) via Ticketmaster.

In a statement, the band, who last year released third album Better Luck Next Time, said: “This has been one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, but after years of sharing our music with you all, we’ve decided it’s time to close the most significant chapter of our lives so far. We’ve been a band for over twelve years and we’ve experienced things we could never have imagined. This journey has been nothing short of incredible!

“As we’ve grown, so have our hopes and dreams, and we’re ready to explore new things. It’s not goodbye to music—it’s just time for us to step away from making music as Sundara Karma.
