Ianis Hagi and his Rangers state of mind as famous father offers reassurance amid injury hell

Rangers star Ianis Hagi is "confident" about his recovery as his father assures the injured star will get the best possible care.

The Romanian international suffered a knee injury in the Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion and despite the fact he managed to walk off the news is not good.

Manager Gio van Bronckhorst confirmed on Tuesday that the playmaker will miss the rest of the season, with Hagi undergoing an operation.

The 23-year-old's father is the greatest player Romania has ever produced, starring for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Galatasaray.

And he has revealed his son's state of mind as well as offering assurances to worried Rangers fans about the process that lies ahead.

Hagi Sr told Digisport: "I spoke to Ianis and he's confident now.

"He's in good hands, he knows that it was just bad luck but now he's focusing on his recovery.

"He's in good spirits and things like this happen.

"It hasn't yet been decided exactly where he'll do his recovery but the best decision will be made for him."
