Ian Garry ruled out of UFC 296 due to pneumonia
Irish fighter Ian Garry has been ruled out of UFC 296 due to pneuomonia.
The Dubliner had been due to take on his former training partner Vicente Luque in a welterweight bout in Las Vegas on Saturday but did not appear at a press conference yesterday and UFC president Dana White has now confirmed that the fight is now off.
"I know it's out there, speculation that Ian Garry and Luque is off. It is true," he said in an Instagram video.
"Ian Garry started with the flu that turned into pneumonia so that fight is off and is not happening. It is true."
Garry, 26, is unbeaten in his MMA career to date at 13-0 and last fought in August when he beat Neil Magny at UFC 292 in Boston.
