‘I tried Costa’s new hot milkshakes and was called ‘brave’ by a customer’

In a bid to chase away the winter chill, Costa has dropped a unique new addition to their drinks line-up - hot milkshakes. The aim? To make those frosty months a tad more bearable and a whole lot cosier - but the beverage has become a ‘hot’ topic for many customers.

You can savour the hot milkshake in three flavours: Chocolate hazel, salted caramel coffee and white chocolate strawberry. Each variation comes adorned with a light whip and offers a choice of chocolate brownie crumbs, caramel vermicelli and sprinkles (depending on which drink you choose).

I ventured into the Urmston branch - greeted by the familiar and welcoming staff - eager to indulge in the white chocolate and strawberry, along with the chocolate hazel hot milkshakes, priced at £4.65 each.

Ultimately, against sparing my hearing (thanks to the blender's thunderous whirring) and the patience of the customers, I made the call to complete the trio and include the final sweet caramel coffee milkshake in the order.

The barista asked if they were “all for me” (because, let's face it, that would be odd) and I admitted I was on a reviewing mission, hoping to alleviate any concerns about my milkshake marathon.

The presentation was a delight —aesthetic whipped cream crowning the glasses, carefully topped with pretty sprinkles, vermicelli, or chocolate brownie crumbs. They even had takeout cups with half-sphere lids to preserve the visual treat.
