'I saved £210 on an Apple Watch 9 this Black Friday by picking rival Google Pixel model'

The Watch Series 9 is Apple's flagship range of smartwatches, having only just launched months ago in September 2023. It's no surprise to see the device propel to the front of shoppers' minds this Black Friday and as it's on my own wishlist I too have been on the hunt for a worthy offer but, as discounts seem to be skimp on that particular brand of Apple Watch, I turned to a much better deal.

I saved myself a hefty £210 as I swayed for the rival Google Pixel smartwatch this sale season, as retailers offer light deals on Apple's newest piece of wearable tech. Even Apple have gone lighter on the deal this year by only offering a £40 voucher for those who take the standard £399 device to the Apple Store checkout, and as you can only use that gift card on a separate purchase it doesn't drop the actual price of the model.

Apple has thrown in three months of free Apple Fitness+ but I just couldn't bring myself to go for an offer that seemed too good to be true, and as a tech writer following the host of deals this November I had my eye on another rival product. Even though it's a year older than Apple's current newest device, and has been overtaken by a newer Pixel Watch 2, the standard Pixel Watch shouldn't be overlooked.
