"I'm told..": Romano drops big Man United update that will leave supporters gutted - opinion

Manchester United are struggling to take something from their season after crashing out of the Champions League and in a tight challenge for a spot in the top four in the Premier League.

Now the future of their team hangs in the balance as players are starting to be linked with moves away.

Popular transfer insider, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed new information about Edinson Cavani’s move away from Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Romano said on the Que Golazo YouTube channel:

“From what I’m told, he’s leaving Man United, no doubt. So he wants to try something new.”

“He dreams of La Liga, so I can’t mention any club at the moment because it’s just Cavani’s intentions. Cavani plans to try La Liga experience in the coming months.”

There is no doubt that it is time for the 35 year old to move on from Manchester United, and for the club to move on and sign a younger striker to succeed him, but there’s no denying that supporters will be gutted to see him leave, especially after his impact on the side since he joined.

The Uruguayan striker was integral to the second place finish in the Premier League last season that earned Manchester United their Champions League qualification, scoring ten goals and assisting three times during the campaign, and was the second highest scorer for the club in all competitions with 17 goals behind Bruno Fernandes with 21.
