'I'm starting to dream' - Manchester United fans go wild following latest Erik ten Hag reports

Manchester United fans are getting excited at the latest developments surrounding Erik ten Hag.

The Ajax boss remains one of the frontrunners to become United’s new permanent manager as the club work towards an appointment before the end of the season. Mauricio Pochettino is the other man leading the race, while Carlo Ancelotti has been touted as a possible target in recent reports.

Ten Hag’s reputation has grown over the last few years thanks to his work with Ajax, having led his exciting young side to the Champions League semi-finals back in 2019. His side have dominated the Eredivisie during his tenure, while they are also seen as potential dark horses again in Europe this season.

Despite losing many of the stars of that 2019 side, Ten Hag has managed to maintain Ajax’s high levels. Reports linking him to Old Trafford are beginning to intensify, leading to the Dutchman addressing the subject this week.

“At the moment, I am only working with Ajax and have no further thoughts on the future," Ten Hag said, as quoted by Trouw. "The focus is on this season. Right now I shouldn’t be the theme. The theme is: how are we going to win games?”

Despite these comments, the speculation hasn’t been quelled, and further reports in the Netherlands have suggested he could be closer to making a move. Dutch journalist Mike Verweij has suggested the chances of Ten Hag joining United in the summer are rising.

And that has led to supporters starting to celebrate the potential appointment. Plenty are even urging United to get a deal over the line.
