'I'm home!' Pierre-Emerick Aubameynag takes dig at Arsenal after Barcelona move

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says he’s ‘at home’ now that he’s completed a move to Barcelona.

The Gabon skipper signed an 18-month deal with the Catalans in January after Arsenal agreed to cancel his contract following a falling out with Mikel Arteta.

Aubameyang spent four years at the Emirates and was club captain for the last two years, before being stripped of the armband following a discplinary breach.

The striker was much loved by supporters during his time at the Gunners and he’s shown Arteta what he’s missing since moving to the Camp Nou, scoring five goals in his first six matches for the La Liga giants.

‘Things are going very well with Xavi,’ Aubameyang told Bein Sports.

‘He is a legend and will contribute many things to the club.

‘Barça deserves to be in front and I am very happy there because I am at home. I’m Spanish for my mother’s sake.

‘My grandfather was from Atletico and I just hope that wherever he is, he will be proud of me for playing in the league.’

Arsenal failed to replace Aubameyang in January, failing in a bid to sign Dusan Vlahovic.

The club were interested in signing Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad but they were unwilling to meet a £74.4m release clause in the Swede’s contract.
