'I'm a virgin at 33 because I have high standards – I'm never going to settle'

A 33-year-old has gone online to say she's still a virgin because she has "high standards".

Lauren Harkins, who posts on Instagram under the handle @itslaurenciag has never been in a relationship or had sex. She herself as 'your favourite late bloomer', offering lifestyle advice and promoting 'high standards inspiration' to her followers.

In one of her recent Instagram videos, Lauren, from Maine, US is seen dancing and lip-syncing to Enigma's track 'Return to Innocence'. Overlay text on the video states: "No one has higher standards and thicker skin than a 33-year-old virgin."

She further took a swipe at 'radical feminists' in the video, suggesting they may not agree with her stance. She also hinted that some men might label her 'expired'.

Expanding on her point in the caption of her post, she wrote: "When your favorite song is trending. It's safe to say both sides at their most extreme are just as toxic as the other. I'm making it my mission to be a voice for the nice and normal people that exist somewhere in the healthy middle lol!"

She also accompanied her post with hashtags such as #highstandards, #onlythebest, and #neversettle.

Lauren's post quickly gained attention, with many putting her understanding of 'radical feminism' into question. ne follower said: "Radical feminists encourage celibacy or applaud it a lot of the time." While another chimed in: "Radical feminists would actually cheer for this. The radicals are for liberation of women from men."
