'I'm a big tea drinker - there's an 'energy bill reducing' smart kettle that rivals Ninja everyone should look out for in the Black Friday sale'

Earlier this year, Ninja's £99.99 smart kettle sent Amazon customers into a spin when it was slashed to less than £60. Due to its overwhelming popularity, the rapid boil kettle quickly went out of stock, leaving many disappointed.

But now one of the brand's biggest rivals has slashed the price of its own smart kettle. Normally £99.99, the Swan Alexa 1.5L Smart Kettle has been reduced to £59.99, matching Ninja's hefty discount. Now the the lowest ever price we’ve seen the device since it launched in the UK at the start of the year, it's already being snapped up by tea and coffee drinkers.

With a rapid boil capability, the option to choose the temperature of your choice, and a capability to keep water warm for up to two hours, it's claimed that the kettle can help to slash energy bills in the cold winter months.

But is the Swan Alexa 1.5L Smart Kettle worth splashing out on, even at a reduced rate? Avid tea drinker Bethan Shufflebotham tried it out for herself to see if it lives up to the hype.

I’m not a particularly gadget-y person or tech fanatic by any means. I don’t have the latest iPhone and I’ve had the same laptop for about eight years - but getting a smart kettle has been life changing.
