"I have to say" - Sky Sports reporter drops Celtic claim after Postecoglou's key off-pitch calls

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge believes ‘you’ve got to give credit’ to Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou for the job he has done since his arrival in the summer.

The 56-year-old arrived at Parkhead as a relative unknown after never managing in Europe before, but he’s made an impressive start to life with the Glasgow giants.

Postecoglou’s reign got off to a slow start after his side slumped to three defeats and a draw in their opening seven Scottish Premiership fixtures, including an Old Firm derby defeat at Ibrox.

The Hoops also encountered problems across the continent and were dumped out of the Champions League play-offs in the second round by Danish outfit FC Midtjylland.

A 1-1 draw with Dundee United on 26 September left Celtic sitting in sixth position in the top-flight table and drew criticism from the media which Postecoglou described as “condescending”.

However, since then, the Greek-Australian tactician has turned things around in emphatic fashion.

An incredible run of 18 victories and two draws in their last 20 league games since the stalemate against United has opened up a three-point gap at the top of the table over Rangers.

The convincing 3-0 win in the second Old Firm derby of the season was evidence of just how far Celtic have come under Postecoglou in his short reign and has sparked hope that they can reclaim the title after letting it slip last term.

While Celtic have been making some eye-catching strides on the pitch, Postecoglou has also been overseeing several off the pitch as well, completely overhauling the first-team squad.

Key players such as Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, Scott Brown and Kristoffer Ajer departed the club in the summer, yet their absence has barely been felt.
