"I have a sneaky suspicion…" – Journalist hints at double Southampton signing in key position

Southampton could look to sign two strikers this summer, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side scored only 42 goals in the Premier League last season and will be hoping to improve their frontline in the current window.

Heading into pre-season, Saints have just two strikers under contract in Che Adams and Adam Armstrong.

Since last season finished, Southampton have lost Armando Broja, who returned to parent club Chelsea, although he’s expected to be sold before the window closes, with West Ham currently pushing for his signature.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I have a sneaky suspicion that even if they manage to get someone like Liam Delap on loan, they would be in the market for another striker.

“They’ve lost Broja, and at the moment, it looks like Shane Long won’t re-sign, but we will wait to see on that one, although if those two are out the door, that’s two strikers down.”
