'I found the perfect slimming winter coat that's made for work or play in unpredictable weather'

With the weather getting colder I've been thrilled as it means it's time to bundle up under a soft coat and look forward to wrapping up in a scarf. There are currently plenty of winter coats and jackets available from my usual go-to retailers like River Island, New Look and Marks and Spencer, but when I found that one of my favourite brands, The Couture Club, had released a coat that instantly cinches you in at the waist for a flattering hourglass figure, and is perfect for work and play in the cold autumn and winter months, I had to try it.

Inspired by landscapes in Iceland, the brand's new range 'Black Sands' claims to be about more than just clothing, claiming it 'harmoniously blends contrasting elements'. I'm normally a trench coat type of girl so it was interesting to see new styles.

As someone planning to bundle up from the cold I opted for the Padded Blazer Coat. It's somewhere inbetween a puffer jacket and a blazer, which immediately caught my eye upon first glance.

Crafted with waterproof fabric, the Couture Club's Padded Blazer Coat is also rain resistant, making it ideal for the unpredictable cold and wet winter weather we're now facing. I was also attracted by the coat's satin lining, which I hoped would feel lightweight on my skin, for a warm but not bulky feel.
