“I can’t really look past MK Dons” – Wycombe v MK Dons: Who wins the play-off first leg? The verdict

The EFL play-offs have finally arrived and it should be an exciting match up in the League One semi-finals tonight when MK Dons travel to face Wycombe Wanderers.

Both teams finished their respective campaigns with back to back victories, with Wycombe finishing sixth in League One in the end, leapfrogging Plymouth Argyle on the final day.

That was somewhat thanks to MK Dons themselves, whose 5-0 victory over Argyle made the above possible.

Having said all of that, we thought we’d asked three of our writers here at FLW for their verdict on the exciting League One match up tonight and who they thought would come out on top.

I can’t really look past MK Dons.

Wycombe will be on a high after getting themselves into the top six shootout but I just think MK have that little bit extra stardust and I am backing them all the way in the play-offs this season.

For that reason, then, I am backing them to get these matches off to a perfect start with a victory, though I do think it’ll obviously be tight and Wycombe will make it hard for them.

The extra quality on the ball MK have should see them through, though, and so I am going for a 2-1 away victory.

Although the play-offs tend to provide plenty of drama, it would be a major surprise if MK Dons do not boost their chances of securing a trip to Wembley Stadium tonight by beating Wycombe.
