'I can't bear the thought of losing him' - Fundraiser for little boy with Leukaemia hits half a million

People across the world have come together to help a young boy from Manchester diagnosed with Leukaemia get a life-saving clinical trial in the United States.

The GoFundMe created by Dillian Ramsey’s family was launched in August and is now sitting at around £500,000 after a surge of donations from concerned people and celebrities.

Dillian, aged four, has been battling Leukaemia since he was one year old.

Clinical trials are one of the most expensive treatments in medical history.

Amy Ramsey, Dillain’s mother said ‘this week we got the results back that we had hoped for’ with treatment hoping to be started as soon as possible.

The exact costs of the treatment has not been revealed however, the GoFundMe is currently at over half its target with one million being the ultimate goal.

Over the weekend, a generous donor boosted the fundraiser after donating over £32,000, edging the Ramsey family closer to their goal.

The treatment will take place in Washington with an October start date.

Amy said in the appeal: “After 2 years of gruelling chemotherapy and suffering, Dillan relapsed Aug 2022. He had a bone marrow transplant at Christmas last year and relapsed again in March this year.

“He had Car T cell therapy in May this year. Four days ago we were told he has relapsed again in his bone marrow, and that there are no more
