"I can definitely see..." - Insider drops potentially worrying Antonio Conte claim at Tottenham

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte could become frustrated with the club’s hierarchy this summer if he doesn’t get the players he wants through the door, according to insider Dean Jones.

Conte, who has been in charge of just 28 games at Spurs, has managed to steer his side into contention for a Champions League spot this season, but it appears that he is not content, and will demand to be given transfer funds ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Spurs made just two signings in January, but they have both worked out well. The north London club brought in Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, and they have taken to the Premier League with very few issues.

Conte is looking to strengthen his squad in four more areas of the pitch in the next transfer window.

According to The Athletic, the Tottenham manager wants to sign a left-sided centre-back, wing-backs for both flanks, and a back-up striker to provide support to Harry Kane.

Conte looks to have set ambitious targets for the summer, but he will expect to be backed by the club’s board.

Jones feels Tottenham had an underwhelming January window, and he fears that if Tottenham fail to deliver again, Conte may decide to kick up a fuss.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jone said: “Conte has been clear since the day he went to the club where he feels his team needs strengthening. They didn’t give him what he needed in January, and that’s why they have to in the summer.

“If Tottenham don’t strengthen by the time we come to August in those positions, I can definitely see a situation again where Conte’s throwing his toys out the pram.”
