'I am so happy' - Amad lifts lid on Ruben Amorim conversation after Manchester United hat-trick

Amad has admitted he is "very happy" to follow Ruben Amorim's plan at Manchester United.

United were on course for a shock defeat to the Premier League's worst side Southampton on Thursday night, but Amad single-handedly turned the game on its head in dramatic fashion.

Amad produced an equaliser in the 82nd minute and immediately picked up the ball for the restart. The 22-year-old urged the Old Trafford crowd to get behind the team by waving his arms and the noise increased, which set up a grandstand finish for the in-form Ivory Coast international.

In the last seconds of normal time, Amad fired United into a 2-1 lead and he scored again during injury time after a Southampton mistake, which sealed a sensational but unlikely comeback.

Amad spoke in the mixed zone after the game and said: "I feel very good, so happy to score my first hat-trick, especially at Old Trafford, but the most important thing is the win together as a team because we need that confidence and we have to keep going like this.

"I'm trying to do my best every game, I'm trying to follow the system of the manager. I'm here to help this team because we need this confidence and want to win every match. If I score, I'm so happy, but for me the most important thing is the win as a team."

Amad started at right wing-back for the first time since playing against Nottingham Forest on December 7. Amorim has played Amad in one of the No.10 roles in the last few weeks and he provided a diplomatic answer when he was asked which position he prefers.

"I prefer both," said Amad. "Like I said to the manager, I'm ready to play anywhere where he wants me to play on the pitch, so I'm ready to fight and I'm here to help this club and fight.
