• Final holds in Lagos October Team Hurricanes and D’ Warriors are leading the log in Division A and B of the ongoing Mindgames Scrabble Premier League, which final holds in Lagos in October.

On day three of the championship in Benin, Edo State, at the weekend, Team Hurricanes won six matches, the highest games, from 10 rounds of matches, with the players recording 28 wins in 50 games.

Team Bulldozers, Phoenix, Supremes and Word Craft occupy the third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively in Division A.

Division B leaders, D’Warriors also sustained their position on top of the log with a total of 38 wins from 50 games to solidify their lead on the overall table.

Four of D’Warriors’ players are ranked among the top 20 in individual standings.

“I am happy with the way everything turned out. We did a lot of calculations on the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents before MSPL matchday three.

“We took some hard decisions in realigning the players and I can tell you that these steps, with luck, helped us in achieving our objectives,” C-owner of D’Warriors, Khalee Adedeji, said.

D’Warriors’ victory gave the team a four-win advantage ahead of second-placed Team Anagrammars with 22 points.

The MSPL Scrabble League will be concluded on October 6 and 7 when all teams in the two divisions battle in 19 rounds of games in Lagos.
