Hundreds attend large illegal rave on Welsh mountain as police swarm the area
Police officers are trying to disperse an illegal rave on a Welsh mountain. Around 200 people gathered on Rhigos Mountain on Saturday night prompting a police operation that saw a section of the mountain road from Hirwaun to Treherbert closed to traffic.
Police said a number of arrests had been made in connection with the gathering, and a dispersal order was in place.
It is understood ravers remain on site and the policing operation to clear the location is ongoing. The A6041 road over the mountain remains closed today, and police have thanked the local community for their support and patience.
