Hull KR's top five wins over Warrington including Magic Weekend classic and cup semi-final

When Hull KR have met Warrington Wolves over the years, the two sides have produced some absolute classics, some that have gone down in the history books. The two sides meet this Friday night, and whenever they do, it's hard not to recall certain fixtures between the pair when thinking of Rovers' best moments in recent years.

Hull Live takes a look back at Rovers' five top victories over the Wolves in the Super League era.

Unbeaten in the Championship and favourites to gain promotion, Justin Morgan and Hull KR welcomed Super League outfit Warrington to Craven Park as the BBC rolled into town to witness one of the best Challenge Cup ties ever seen. Tries from Ben Cockayne, Makali Aizue, Byron Ford and Jon Goddard gave the Robins a 24-22 lead at the break after a breathtaking 40 minutes.

Four quick-fire tries in 17 minutes after the interval gave Rovers a 40-26 lead late into the game, with Ford completing his hat-trick. Wire reduced the gap to 40-36 with 13 minutes to go in a nail-biting finale, but the Robins held strong and recorded one of the most significant victories in the club's history.

In a victory that saw the club move up to second in the table, the 2009 Magic Weekend triumph over Warrington will always be known as the 'Ben Galea show' thanks to two tries and three assists from the former ace.

Chris Hicks gave Warrington the lead early on before Rovers levelled things up after a neat try from Shaun Briscoe. Further tries from Simon Grix and Vinnie Anderson put the Wolves on the front foot until the mercurial Michael Dobson pulled Rovers back into the game.
