Hugo Lloris admitted Cristiano Ronaldo was too good for Tottenham, after the striker scored a hat-trick against his side for Manchester United.

Tottenham headed to Old Trafford just two points behind Man Utd at the weekend. Indeed, Spurs were looking to hit back after their 3-0 loss in the return fixture.

However, the game did not quite pan out as the north London side would have wanted.

Ronaldo put Spurs to the sword, on the way to just his second ever Premier League hat-trick.

Tottenham captain Lloris thought his side deserved more from the game.

“I think we had a good team performance, even if we can do better with the goals we conceded,” he said, quoted by Manchester Evening News.

“We know at this level it’s all about details. Cristiano Ronaldo also helped a lot today to get United the result. It’s painful because we feel we deserve better. But in football you always get what you deserve and we now need to focus on next week.”

Clearly, Lloris though Ronaldo was too much for Spurs to contend with.

“I think [Ronaldo] was at his best, very aggressive in the box. It’s difficult to control him, but when you concede set pieces you need to look for that. The second goal is from a cross and we could have defended it a bit better,” Lloris added.
