Hugh Jackman has admitted that the trailer for Wrexham AFC 's new documentary reduced him to tears.
The Australian film star was stunned by the sneak peak at the doc, which is titled 'Welcome to Wrexham' and will release on August 25 in the UK, prompting him to contact good friend Ryan Reynolds to express his astonishment. Reynolds co-owns the Welsh club alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney, having brought their Hollywood charm to the Racecourse Ground in February 2021.
Although cash-rich Wrexham remain in the Vanarama National League, despite a splurge of spending, their story since being bought by Reynolds and McElhenney has made headlines across the globe. Jackman, 53, is one of many worldwide to be hooked by the dramatic tale from north-east Wales. The Aussie replied to Reynolds' Instagram post containing the trailer by saying: "I'm in a puddle of happy tears and covered in chill bumps. I can't wait to watch. I am in love with Wrexham... and you. #WelcomeToWrexham."
