There was a boost yesterday with news Joe Newell has agreed to a contract extension to keep him at Easter Road for another three years.

Harry Clarke is back in training for Hibs though this weekend’s game might come too soon for the defender signed in the January window who’s yet to feature. Ryan Porteous starts his four-game suspension following his red card last week. Kyle Magennis, Paul McGinn and Demi Mitchell remain sidelined through injury.

Matt Macey is a doubt while Josh Campbell and Sylvester Jasper picked up knocks on international duty, though they were at training on Friday.

Dundee United lowdown

The Terrors will be looking to clinch a place in the top six with a victory, while a draw would go a long way to realising that ambition also. They won last time out, coming from behind to beat St Mirren in Paisley with ex-Hibs striker Mark McNulty scoring a late winner.

Hibs won 3-1 at Tannadice in the last match before the winter break.
