How much money did Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power earn at this year's US Open?

Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power earned a cool $1million between them at the US Open.

McIlroy, chasing a fifth major, finished four shots off eventual champion Matt Fitpzatrick after shooting a final round 69 at the County Club in Brookline.

Rory needed a near perfect final day to stay in contention, but he endured a rollercoaster round of five birdies and four bogeys to finish two under for the tournament.

Frustration for the World No2 but his T5 finish alongside Collin Morikawa saw him pocket a cheque for $674,953, which equates to approximately £553,000 or €643,000.

Power also cashed in after shooting a final round 70 to finish the tournament on one over and tied for 12th alongside Jon Rahm whose challenge unravelled on the final day.

Power’s solid performance across the week saw him leave Boston with $347,058, which converts to approximately £284,000 or €330,000.

Fitzpatrick, celebrating his first ever major title, picked up $3,150,000, which converts to approximately £2,575,000.

The total prize money at this year’s US Open was $17,500,000 with players who missed the cut - including Shane Lowry - picking up $10,000.
