How Manchester United should line up vs Nottingham Forest in Premier League fixture

Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

United responded well to their defeat at Newcastle by securing back-to-back wins against Brentford and Everton, but the midweek draw against Sevilla was disappointing.

The result was also made worse by injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. It's important that United bounce back against Forest, although it won't be a straightforward game, as Steve Cooper's side are fighting for survival.

Regarding the team news, Marcus Rashford remains unavailable, whilst Varane and Martinez are also out. However, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay could return to the side after their respective brief spells on the sidelines.

If Luke Shaw is fit then he has to start. Tyrell Malacia has been gettable in two successive games where United have done almost all of the attacking and he is a liability in defence.

The front six should remain the same. Sabitzer and Fernandes are in fine form, Antony is improving with every game and Martial enjoyed an excellent hour against Sevilla.

Injuries are going to play a major part in Ten Hag's team selection at the City Ground and he could do with some good news on that front. Having Shaw back and available to start would be ideal after Malacia's nightmare against Sevilla, especially when the defence will be stretched. Maguire and Lindelof have to start in what could be a throwback four.
