How Manchester United should line up vs Brighton in Premier League fixture

Manchester United will be looking to finally address their worrying run of form when they host Brighton at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

Ralf Rangnick's side have played some good football over the last three matches but have finished them all without victory after equally disappointing elements of play as well.

Brighton have never won away against United in any competition, drawing two and losing 11 of their 13 visits. In the top-flight, they’ve taken just one point from a possible 24 at Old Trafford (D1 L7), losing all four of their visits in the Premier League.

In terms of early team news, Fred will return to the squad for the match but Edinson Cavani, who turned 35 on Valentine's Day, is still sidelined with a groin injury and Nemanja Matic is also unavailable again with a shin injury.

Here is how MEN writers think United should line up.

United need to freshen up the team in every outfield department. Harry Maguire should have been dropped at the weekend, wasn't and was arguably worse than at Burnley.

Scott McTominay wilted against Southampton's midfield and, as loose as it would be to have Fred and Paul Pogba as the midfielders, from a purely professional perspective an entertaining win or defeat would trump the Groundhog Day grind of another 1-1 draw.

Anthony Elanga, like almost every United winger, probably dislikes playing on the right but we need to see it to believe it and he should come in for Marcus Rashford.

It's quite clear something needs to change, and in terms of the line up there could be two. On recent form, Maguire doesn't deserve to start, and Lindelof would again be a worthy replacement in defence.
