How Man City should line up vs FC Copenhagen in the Champions League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will have to decide whether to rotate his squad or continue to go strong in their third Champions League group game of the season vs FC Copenhagen.

City have six points from six in the group, and can put one foot in the last-16 with victory at the Etihad on Wednesday. However, Guardiola has a few injury concerns and may want to give some more important players a rest ahead of a busy schedule in the next month.

John Stones and Kalvin Phillips are out, with Kyle Walker likely to join them. Rodri was being assessed on Tuesday after missing the derby win over Manchester United, but trained in the afternoon so could feature. Others, like Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Gomez, Aymeric Laporte and Julian Alvarez may hope to get a game after finding themselves out of contention recently.

At some point Haaland won't start a game but while he is making such an impact in such a short amount of time he may as well continue with the form he is in. Julian Alvarez deserves a start though to continue his integration into the team and give Kevin De Bruyne a rest to keep him primed for the Premier League.

Kyle Walker's absence means that Joao Cancelo is almost destined to start at right-back, and Sergio Gomez impressed when he came off the bench against United on Sunday. Nathan Ake can stay in the team with Ruben Dias coming back in.

Rodri's fitness isn't worth risking, particularly with Ilkay Gundogan a sound option in the holding role. Riyad Mahrez desperately needs some minutes and some form.
